Projects & campaigns

BSW-Solar is a partner to many national projects. A selection of these projects can be found here:

Woche der Sonne (Week of the sun)

Every year, BSW-Solar organises the "Week of the Sun" in an effort to draw public attention to environmentally friendly solar energy at the beginning of the summer season. In 2008, over 1,600 participants launched around 2,500 events across Germany to demonstrate the potential of a solar-based energy supply and to inform the public about the use of solar energy. From 2008, the campaign expanded to a European level, with over 13 countries participating in a Europe-wide campaign called the “European Solar Days”.

PV LEGAL

The objective of the PV LEGAL project is to overcome market barriers for PV on the level of regulatory frameworks. Project partners will analyse all of the stages with regard to legal-administrative procedures (LAP) in 12 countries, not only researching the existing regulations but also describing practical experiences in terms of time, effort and cost incurred by these procedures.

The PV LEGAL project aims to:

  • Provide transparency to investors and stakeholders in the PV industry in terms of administrative requirements
  • Improve the ability of project developers and other stakeholders to make profound business decisions and reduce costs for PV installation processes
  • Contribute to significant improvements by streamlining planning, construction and operating procedures for PV systems

The PV LEGAL project is carried out by 12+4 European national PV industry associations in the following countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. It is the first joint project of the European PV industry associations including EPIA and is funded by the European Commission under the "Intelligent Energy Europe" programme. The PV Legal project goes into operation in June 2009 and will continue for 32 months.
