In the past, the solar industry has been a key factor driving economic growth in Germany. The industry has become a multi billion Euro business, providing ten thousands of jobs in a forward-looking industry in Germany – and the prospects for the future are even brighter. Such results are based on persistent and at the same time diplomatic representation of interests by a strong industry association. This is the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar).

Member companies benefit from the work of the association on various levels. BSW-Solar lobbies for the increasing use of solar energy on a national level and supports such activities on an international level. Whilst we put all our efforts in maintaining favourable support policies in Germany, our focus is also on supporting the creation of new solar markets worldwide. Intensive PR, media relations and national campaigns to raise awareness have contributed to creating a positive image of solar energy and stable solar markets in Germany.

BSW-Solar enables knowledge transfer within the industry and contributes to fostering the development of solar markets throughout the world. Market and policy information as well as analyses distributed by internal news bulletins, workshops and seminars provide members with first-hand information and prepare them for future developments. Based in the heart of Berlin, BSW-Solar represents solar interests in the field of political decision-making.
